I’m Derek Russell, a tattoo artist specializing in blackwork tribal tattoos. With seven years of professional experience, my style draws influence from a range of traditions, including Tahitian, Patutiki (Marquesan), Filipino, and other indigenous cultures. While these influences shape the foundation of my work, each piece is uniquely designed to reflect my client’s vision, blending tradition with a modern artistic approach. Every piece I create is freehand, drawn directly onto the skin, ensuring a truly custom design that flows naturally with each client’s body.

I’m based in Las Vegas, NV, and work as a resident artist at 18b Tattoo, located in the heart of the Arts District in downtown Las Vegas. My goal is to create meaningful, powerful tattoos that honor the cultural heritage behind the art while making each design personal to the wearer.
